BARBA YANNI - the upper house, sleeps 8 in 4 double or twin bedrooms 3 bathrooms and 1 shower room. There is an indoor dinning room, sitting room, TV area, breakfast kitchen, chefs kitchen, front veranda, pool, bbq, tennis court and vine covered dinning area.
The house is built in the local Pelion style with the overhanging top floor and local stone roof. The stone for the walls all came from along the road leading to the property and the chestnut timber inside from the local forest. Although the building of the house was started by the previous owner it was completed in the 1980’s by the current owners and totally renovated in 2005.
Inside
Inside the accommodation comprises of a double bedroom with bathroom on the ground floor; a low ceiling bedroom with bathroom on the first floor and a further 2, twin/ double bedrooms sharing a bathroom and balcony on the top floor. All the beds are imported, pocket sprung from the UK.
Ground floor
As you enter the hall it opens up to the first floor which has a mezzanine walkway, to the left is a shower room and downstairs bedroom with its own separate bathroom with bath and hand shower. To the right is the Chefs Kitchen and staircase. Ahead you go through into the main living room with its impressive exposed chestnut timbered ceiling. Which accommodates in four separate areas the main seating area , TV area with an open fire TV DVD Video and music system with additional speakers on the front veranda and rear terrace , indoor dinning area and breakfast Kitchen which includes coffee making facilities, hob, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and kettle.
First Floor
Off the stairs is a twin/double bedroom with its own bathroom (bath and hand shower) that is reached by way of the mezzanine walkway.
Second Floor
At the top of the stairs, to your left is the bathroom shared by the two bedrooms on this floor it again has bath and shower. Ahead and to the right are the bedrooms both of which have double/twin beds and double doors that open onto the balcony that has views out to the pool and rear terrace.
Outside
The front veranda that is connected to the sitting room by way of a large sliding window is a great spot to sit for a pre dinner drink or out of the sun and watch the ever changing patterns on the sea, while looking for dolphins. Adjacent to the front veranda is the pool, put in before infinity pools were the rage it does benefit from the fact you can get around it.
On the other side of the house from the from veranda is the BBQ area and rear terrace with its vine cover dinning area and a paved area with the foldable table tennis table. The tennis court is situated behind the house and is the first place to lose the sun in the evening. The mature gardens are made up of terraced lawns dotted with fig, cherry, lotus and acacia trees offering shady sitting areas
